this is in fact my first "blog entry" as it is called. i dont really have anything to say rn so i'll post one of my poems. its a tanka i wrote in the last english class i took, poetry writing 3 i think. a tanka is a 5 line japanese poem with a 57577 syllable structure.
Tanka #1
Icy manna paints
a wide, white beach, and I hear
you; ever-misting
royal wine-dark, the sound of
angels sighing at my side.
its been a while since i wrote this poem but its kind of topical at the moment. it barely ever snows in my state but its already snowed here twice this winter. still, ive never seen it like my poem describes; i would love to see a snowy beach one day though, it seems like such an oxymoron to me for some reason. hence the poem, because i like things like that.
tell me what you think if you want to ^_^
