The purpose of art and i start talking about a slovak claymotion

So this is the first blog I'll be writing, and I'm not so confident about my grammar either, BUT I have things to say. And considering the fact that y’all could not understand my mother language, I decided to write this in English.
Lately, I've been thinking a lot about the purpose of art in the so-called modern world.
A lot of people are not even trying to understand the abstract revolution that's been going on in the past years. These people would rather say something like "Da Vinci was a real artist, but these people drawing lines and making a mess who are calling themselves artists are a bunch of clowns," than really think about why, in modern times, art isn’t that big of a deal to paint realistically like they did in the Renaissance. Think about it. We have almost unlimited access to cameras and picture-taking. Why would we need paint to capture the ordinary things in our life? But we can't take pictures of imaginary stuff or political statements and ideas, that's why today's art is the way it is.
But I have an idea. People are not so interested in art in a traditional way anymore. I mean, yeah, it's cool you can play the guitar, it's cool you can paint or play on stage, but it's all kinda boring, and you can only reach a specific group of people who have the same interests as you do.

Soo, I came to the realization that musicals are the best way to talk to people through art. Yep, you heard me, musicals. Maybe the fact that I have an undying love for musicals may have planted this idea in me, but let me explain better. It's like, young people (even young adults) mostly have ADHD and stuff like that, and they are just always overstimulated and cannot focus on anything. Maybe they could. Maybe if they were forced to sit through a play that's interesting, has poetry in it, music, costumes, any other kinds of art, and of course, a hidden political message, I think these people would live a happier and fuller life. Like remember the musical Hair. How it was such a huge thing back in the day, and it is still something worth talking about. It's beautiful, it's exciting, it's crazy, it's deep, and IT. HAS. HIDDEN (not so hidden xd) MESSAGE.
Today I was thinking that maybe I could write something like this too. I don't have the time for it 'cause I'm participating in a lot of activism stuff. BUT I want to write a musical about bilingual teens in Slovakia. Omg, I told you where I'm from, aijaijaij. Slovakia is a great place to live in, and you know what, I actually really like this post-Soviet, post-communist vibe we still have going on. Yeah, of course, our leaders can't lead and our system cannot teach or feed, but I still call this place my home, and I'm happy to live here. This week I was sick at home, scrolling all day, surfing on the internet, looking for something I care about. And this time, I've actually found something... The Slovaks, or as we call them "Slováci," have been making a claymation movie in the past years, called Keď život chutí. I will try to translate the title: so "život" means life and "chutí" means when something tastes good for you, so together it means something like "When life tastes good for you" xd. My Slovak friends would probably laugh at my attempt at translating this, but it was worth a try. So this movie is pretty new, and it's basically about kids "evolving" into teenagers. I used the word evolving on purpose 'cause they say it in the trailer, (as in, a young girl walks by, and she already has a more feminine body, yk, tits and stuff, and the boys are talking to each other - "What happened to the girls during the summer break?" - "Evolution, I guess"). Yeaah. I will link the trailer down here, hope it interests you, and maybe you'll watch it. Me myself, I haven't watched it yet, but I will, I just have to get some money and my lovely boyfriend. But I will write a critique or something about it, so I guess stay tuned.

Thanks for reading all this. I hope it was not a steal from your time and I maybe gave you inspiration or anything. Soo yeah.

Be present
