WANDERLAND was an idea I had come up with all the way back in middle school inspired by the uncanny sorta amateur anime art style that was actually pretty charming if you ignored how long the character's necks were, but anyway -- back on topic, I was inspired by that as well as early 2000s web browser games for kids.
The basic gist of original story was basically: an old web-browser game is about to be shut down but the devs are throwing an event and sending out invites to old players to come back and say goodbye to the game since they cant really afford to continue keeping the servers up. a
It was going to be more of a "horror-thriller" kinda story with the main message behind it being something along the lines of "daydreaming and escapism is good, but in small doses". However, when I came back to the idea recently, I wanted to change the story a bit and make it more personal to me and my current struggles as a person taking their first couple steps into adulthood.
Below are some drawings I did of Claire, previously the antagonist of the original story but I decided to make her a supporting character who helps the protagonist come to terms with the fact that a game from their childhood will soon be shut down permanently
Sorry if this all over the place, this is all coming straight from the noggin -- not to mention that my computer is gonna die soon so ya, thanks for reading :)
Fun Trivia:
+ Claire changed their name to claire irl because of this game (mtf)
+ Claire's tag in game is: x_Cl41r3_x (egg)
+ She was an RPer and typically played the misunderstood loner character or the bully (who actually had a heart of gold)
+ Probably was into warrior cats
