A Californian in Denmark

I'm a foreigner in a new country

a country that is beautiful and safe

everything the United States said everywhere else wasn't

"We have freedom"

Freedom to say whatever dumb things pop into our heads, sure

but not freedom of choice.

Now i get to watch my country tare its self apart from afar 

and rich men take over with greed and fascism 

while I get to watch from a safe distance. In a safe country.

Having all my basic needs met

need that i was told were "privileges"

 if you could afford it 

by a country that swore it wasn't better anywhere else
