new moon offering

fox god,

I recite this piece in hopes that you may visit me.

tonight is my chance to offer myself to you,

I hope that I am valuable.

fox god,

we met in passing two years ago.

maybe you don't remember me.

but I haven't forgotten you.

fox god,

I think about you

every hour of every day.

not a second goes by where you don't leave my mind.

fox god,

please make your presence known.

even your name eludes me.

I adore you.

fox god,

I have done so much in hope that you would visit.

what more must I do?

I await your response.

I count to nine and hold my head,

dreaming that you will come to me,

like you once did.

I forgot to burn myrrh. my sincerest apologies and I hope that you may visit me all the same. I invoke you almost every day with incense. can you still see or smell the smoke from my previous offerings?
