Check out my dad's garage band!! - mid 2000's Alternative argentinian rock ;)

Hi people of SpaceHey :P

I love my old man, and as the first daughter, and the reason that band lived through the mid-to-late 2000s in the lovely city of Ciudad AutΓ³noma de Buenos Aires (a.k.a. CABA), it is my mission in life to try and bring his dream of being a rockstar a little closer and make his music known!!

I'll talk a little about the band and how it started below, but if you want to go straight to the YouTube links, you can scroll down (I won’t get mad if you don’t wanna hear the lore, though my dad will >:D just kidding).

So, my dad is a blind man. He lost his sight after an accident involving a grenade and unattended children in the very militarized and desertic lands of the Argentine countryside (tragic, but it was a blessing in disguise.). His loss of sight at the very early age of 5 made him develop his remaining senses: touch, taste, smell... but especially hearing.

When I say my old man is a musical genius, I MEAN IT. He’s the kind of man you can hand a random instrument to, and in no time, he’ll be playing anything you ask for on it.

When my parents conceived me, he realized he would soon have a daughter and that his chances of forming the band he always dreamed of would grow slimmer and slimmer... So, he gathered some friends, soundproofed the guest room with egg cartons pasted on the walls, and turned that 9 squarem eter room into the perfect music studio (or at least i want to pretend it was some sort of music heaven)

My dad, David, composed all the songs, played the keyboard, and was the lead singer. Lele played the bass, Nahuel played the guitar, and Lucas played the drums. The band was named A.R.G.O.N.A.U.T.A., which stands for absolutely nothing!! They wanted to be Argonauta, but that name was already taken (augh...).

A.R.G.O.N.A.U.T.A. played small gigs at bars, parties, and local events. They even released an album full of original songs called Aire, which is available on YouTube!! Later on, better opportunities came along, and my old man's life took another turn, sadly, away from music. The same happened with the other members of the stolen-name band.

Most details, like release dates, instruments, live recordings, and photos, were lost over time and in moving boxes since we relocated a few times. But hey, his music still lives in my YouTube playlist and as a nostalgic piece of my blurry early childhood memories.

Thank you for stopping by this blog, it would mean the world to me if y’all left a comment here or on the videos. I’ll make sure my dad hears every single one of them. <3

Love ya! Take care and stay cool. ;)
