Bodily Autonomy Should Be Absolute, Even If It Makes You Feel Uncomfortable

i often get the feeling even other queer people believe there should be an arbitrary line to draw between what people are and aren't allowed to do to themselves . i find that hypocritical and, frankly, out of touch with their own supposed values . if you think somebody should be allowed to get an abortion or medically transition or get a million bajillion aesthetic procedures because it's their own body, you have to be willing to reckon with the fact that people will be allowed to hurt and/or kill themselves in a world with full bodily autonomy . which is literally fucking fine . if it really upsets you that much what they're doing with their own bodies, instead of calling it disgusting and hurling a number at them to call so they can lose their rights to medical incarceration, maybe like . work to fix the underlying issues that might cause suicide to be a more desirable path than staying alive ? just a bit of a thought .
