what's the big deal about people who don't talk much?

GENUINE QUESTION. disclaimer that i am very much biased since i myself don't talk here nearly as much as i probably should.

i just always see people like "why would you make an account if you aren't going to talk!? don't add me if you won't interact!!" etc etc etc. and it kind of confuses me. 😅 not just because it's a much different culture compared to other sites (where nobody really cares if you're quiet or not very active), but also because i don't really see why it's that serious. in fact, spacehey is legitimately the ONLY website i've seen where people actually care if you aren't very active!

the truth is, i think most people who don't post that often here are either lurkers, who are actually VERY active, just in things like reading blogs and giving kudos; or people who just use other sites more. and i don't see anything wrong with either of these.

i get the frustration that the site can be kind of dead. and honestly i don't have anything against that. i'm just wondering if there's any OTHER reasons why people hate quiet people. i've been curious about it for a long time! again, this is a genuine question lol
