True Detective S1E2:Hart and the many amorphous women

So im watching True Detective Season one for the first time ever (the one with Mathew McConaughey) and i was watching the scene with Martin Hart and Jan, where Hart has this genuine moment of "Holy Shit, this is fucked up" which in my opinion is an actual genuine reaction to the fact that Dori's friend is not of age. This whole episode Hart has been dissected through his interactions with women and specifically younger women. His affair with the one girl from the vampire dairies where he sees women as this fragile, and non-mature husk of meat. He doesn't see women as people is basically what im trying to say. Like he is the archetype of guy that shows up at the bunny ranch and do the things he does for this "release" that he just cannot bring home. He  navigates this world from this stance that he is operating at the law in his uniform and when he takes it off and has an affair with a much younger woman than him he's not like coming from a stance of like moral negativeness(?)(idk what word i want here) .He feels as if he has no moral connection to those actions(almost like his uniform is an absolution of sorts). He is operating from this higher moral high ground and doesn't see the flawed mess of his actions. And i think it was really interesting when Rust comments on the times Hart is suspected to be cheating on his wife. For example when they were leaving Jan's place and he said that he was putting a down payment down, after he saw the money exchange to Dori's friend. Jan's dialogue is so important also, she opposes Harts "holier than thou" act and calls him out on his bullshit which i think is so important that it is an older woman to do so. Hart so far has only been shown in bed with a younger woman so the fact that Jan is the one for him to have this conversation with about, Female sex work and how it can be a safe haven from the abuse of older men. The conversation Hart and Maggie have where she knows he's lying and he still lies, He shows his underlying thoughts about women and how he interacts with them. His hubris to change his own thoughts and behavior i think will be his outcome as a person later in the season. I don't know where this season is going but im hooked. This is ramble-ly now but even his relationship with Cathleen where he doesn't even see her as a person he sees her as this amorphous figure that is "beautiful" or "pretty" and is the person that gets me coffee in the morning.

This show is so good i wish i saw this sooner.
