Recovery journey (update 1)

Since my last blog, I told myself I was committed to writing here every day. However, due to some unexpected exams and trips, I had no time to keep up with it while also focusing on myself and implementing the things I wrote about in my last post.

The day after I posted that blog, I was really motivated. I had significantly less screen time than usual, and the day felt amazing. I repeated the same routine the next day, but one thing I didn’t realize was that when you're surrounded by the distractions you're trying to escape, it's easy to fall back into old habits. Unfortunately, after those two good days, I slipped back into the same unhealthy routine.

To make things even more challenging, I had an unexpected trip, so I couldn't fix my routine right away. Right now, I’m still traveling, and honestly, it feels so refreshing to be away from home, even if just for a week. I've stopped using my phone as much, and instead, I've been going on walks to explore the city.

I’m currently in Paris, and there’s so much to see. The people are actually really nice—definitely not as the stereotypes suggest! The weather is crisp and cold, and everything just feels so alive.

If you're reading this, take this as your sign to book that trip you've always wanted. Give yourself a break, free your soul a little, explore new cultures, and meet amazing people who might even become lifelong friends!

Traveling has reminded me how important it is to step away from the routine, even for a little while. Sometimes, all we need is a change of scenery to reset our minds and reconnect with ourselves. This trip has shown me that life isn’t meant to be spent glued to a screen or trapped in the same cycle—we’re meant to explore, feel, and truly live.

As I wrap up this journey, I want to hold on to this feeling of clarity and presence. And when I return home, I’ll remind myself that I don’t need to be in a new city to embrace life with the same curiosity and excitement.

So if you've been waiting for a sign to take that trip, step out of your comfort zone, or simply break free from the monotony—this is it. Go for it. You deserve to feel alive. ✨

Stay safe, readers. Love you all.

XOXO,
Your friend, Ilham

A new environment has a way of giving us fresh perspectives and helping us realign with ourselves. So glad you feel the same!
