Eternal Stars

I look up to the stars and I see, 

The ages past, the history, 

The same stars above me, 

Shined on Eve as she,

Held her Adam's hand, 

As they stood upon newborn sand, 

The stars of promise for Abraham, 

The blessed star of Bethlehem, 

The midnight stars above Gethsemane, 

Illuminating Jesus as prayed he, 

Stars above me now in this late year, 

I think of all those the light touched before,

Stars of new and stars of old, 

Heavenly light that shines so bold, 

Beautiful stars remain as ages roll, 

Eternal stars heal my weary soul.
