Everyone is the Same

In this generation there are lots of different people, with different styles and looks and interests. BUT for some reason everyone wants to look the same and be the same. It is different in every country, but I am speaking from my experience in Australia. For example, I saw at the shops a group of girls, and I thought, cool, a group a friends having fun together, but then I looked closer, they all looked the same! Now there are so many people in this world, it is hard to look exactly like someone, but in this instant they looked like a cult. They all had bleached blonde, straightened hair. A fake tan so orange, that it makes them look related to Donald Trump (which is not a good thing). They all have these thick eye lash extensions on. There are different types of eye lash extensions, the ones that can pass for someone's real lashes and the type that look like butterflies that are about to fly away.

Now boys, all this Nike tech, is killing my eye balls. Every time I look and see what you are wearing I just instantly think, 'wanna be gangster'. And it is even worse when you have the TN's on as well. I know it was a trend ages ago, but I will never forget seeing a group of them all wearing Nike Tech and TN's, although the TN's and Tech were different colours, they still looked as much of a cult as the bleach blonde, butterfly lash, Daughter of Donald Trump'es.

Now looking the same is one thing but when they all like the same things is not good. All the girls liking netball, Taylor swift and the colour pink. And I know I am judging and may be wrong about some people, but even just with the looks it is insanity. All these boys, love the same basic rap artists (Travis Scott, Kayne West and more), all playing the same video games and treating girls like they don't matter. Why would anyone want to be the exact same as someone, unless it's someone cool like Jeff Buckley, Liam Gallagher or Cortney Love.

But even so, wouldn't you want to be your own person, be different, to have something about you that nobody else has! To be able to do something that not everyone can. Something that separates you from the people around you.

This becomes bad in relationships and sadly encourages cheating. If someone sees the same thing everyday, the same bleach blonde hair, the fake tan, and the fake eye lashes, or the same Nike tech and TN's they'd think they have choices or options. That they can pick and choose as they please. If one gets boring, don't worry there's another person that looks just like them, and even has the same interests!

I know it is a free world and you can do what you want. But just stop and think, who am I? What do I really like? What separates me from my friends?

But I know there will always be trends and people who follow those trends incessantly. But soon enough, if everyone starts copping and following these people, our world will become bland, boring and indifferent.

Yeah that's true, and everyone can do what they want, and there's not much anyone can do about it.

well, i think the best anyone can do is pursuing things they like and finding their tribe, a group of likeminded people! :>
I think most people want to be apart of something in a way? but it doesn’t have to be the popular culture. that’s why there are goths, punks, etc.

Word, I'm also aussie and in the city and shopping centres everyone seems to dress in only one or two ways, girls are either poser hypergoth or those generic trendy girls that rolled out of the factory rather than had a natural birth. Guys are just, nike tech fleece/jumper, tracksuit pants and the worst haircuts known to man. Of course there are outliers and I often see people who obviously have their own unique sense of style but the sheer volume of the clone people offets that HARD. Regarding personality, I don't have too much input since I haven't been in school ina hot minute and never made an effort to talk to those kinds of "people" but yeah, they seem to all like the same spotify playlist coworker music for teens kinda genre of everything

Exactly, and yeah, there are people who have their own styles. But the same people wearing the same stuff is getting annoying and sad.
