fear and sex (magdalena bay cover)

my first time recording vocals for anything, i've been practicing singing recently and going to open mic nights, but i still have a long way to go especially for recording vocals for a song (also i'm a bit congested still from being sick last week and it's still difficult to sing high notes or hold pitch). still, this came out better than i thought it would. 

i've been absolutely obsessed with imaginal disk. it might be recency bias, but it's one of the best pop albums i've ever heard. death + romance and the ballad of matt + mica are my favorites, but fear + sex keeps getting caught in my head. it being short also made it easy as a first cover to do. it's also not nearly as challenging to sing as something like cry for me or she looked like me. 

this is also one of my first times mixing vocals, it's not too hard but i don't think i have it completely down yet. i think the best part i did, between the delivery and production is the 'please don't die alone' part. i really want some feedback on what i can do better, since i'm still very much a beginner vocalist (that might be obvious in the cover i'm not sure i have no perspective).

at the moment i'm recording with a blue snowball mic and i made the instrumental myself in reaper. also ignore the like half a minute of silence at the end.
