Journal Entry #120: 01/26/25 - Surreal Snow

. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁ ᨒ↟ 𖠰

So...a lot has happened, and at the same time, nothing has.

I had Monday off, which I enjoyed somewhat. I won't get into too much detail, but since the inauguration, social media has been bleak. I've been trying to keep off of it for that reason. Due to snow being forecasted, I had virtual class on Tuesday. It did end up snowing, so later that day I went outside with a friend and enjoyed the snow. It was quite crunchy, and I'm glad I was able to experience snow on my college's campus. Naturally, it was super cold, so I only stayed out for about an hour or two. It was a nice break, and I'm glad I was able to see snow twice this year. On Wednesday, class was also virtual. I also had a meeting with my student org at this time, which was unbelievably long (it lasted two hours). Although the second week of classes just finished, it feels like mid or even late semester. I have so much student org work to do!

On Thursday class was still virtual. Most places around me were still closed, but the Target that is within walking distance of my apartment was open. It felt like everyone was in there. I've never seen it that lively! On Friday, class carried on as normal in person. I went to a small workshop after class and enjoyed my Friday night. I woke up Saturday with a text from a friend(?) about meeting to discuss things relating to the student org. Our relationship has become a bit strained, and to be honest, it's mostly my fault. I have such a hard time asking for help... I had a good time, as it wasn't just us two, and went back home to meet with my mentor. We had a productive conversation.

Today was mostly just your average "relax and work" day. This week was strange (obviously) due to the weather and academic interruptions. In fact, despite being in contact with people the entire time, it felt like a callback to the pandemic, which was not a fun time, even if I am nostalgic about some memories. I hope this week is warmer and lighter. I can already tell that we're receiving more daylight, and warm weather is on the way it seems. When Groundhog day gets here, I hope Phil says that Spring will come early.

Although my birthday is in about a week, I haven't been feeling well. I've been quite irritable and absent-minded. I also feel a little bit lost, and have pent-up energy which I'm having a hard time truly utilizing. The next four years also bother me. However, the coldest winters precede the prettiest springs, so something good's got to happen at some point. There is a light somewhere within me.

Boa noite,
