Figured I oughta write something for everyone that's viewing my profile. Figure this should help people decide if they'd want to friend me or not.
Intro:
Hey, my name's Dominic. I'm a university student pursuing a history B.A. w/lit minor. I like studying history in general, but my favorite time period to study so far is post-WWII. I like looking into counter-culture movements in the US: anti-war protests against the Vietnam War, the Black Panther party, and the punk scene. The Global War on Terror (2001-2021) interests me too, but I haven't made much of an inroads with that yet. (I should read more books on all of these tbh...)
I'm taking a literature minor to help boost my degree AND because I like reading. I'm on a sci-fi binge at the time of writing (reading Ready Player One rn), but I'm also a fan of detective novels, biographies, and (surprise surprise!) books about history. Speaking of books about history: if you haven't read it yet, I'd really recommend E.H. Gombrich's A Little History Of The World! It's a fairly easy read that takes you from the beginning of recorded history up to the end of WWI.
I don't game as much as I used to. I'm playing through the Batman: Arkham series on my Xbox (still in Arkham City), I occasionally try to game on my laptop (a bit of Roblox with friends every now and then), and I emulate the Gameboy Color and Advance on my smartphone.
Who I want to meet:
- I'm mainly interested in talking to people around my age. No offense to anyone younger than me (17 and below), y'all are allowed to be on the internet and do whatever, just be safe and be careful of older strangers online. It's a big place and anyone can be anything - for better or worse. You probably already know that, though.

- DMs: I'd rather someone initiate a chat with me first just so IK I'm not imposing on your schedule (or your "vibe" or whatever). I'll try to get back to you within the day, I can't assure quick messages though. I've got obligations to Uni and IRL stuff to attend to that might slow me down.
- My interests tabs show *most* of the stuff I'm into. I'm going to figure out how to cram a gaming section in there soon...
