I took an intro photography class in my high school, and I LOVED it so much!!! It was so fun taking pictures and using the darkroom, and I liked learning about the history of photography.
There are more courses offered after this one, but because of my schedule and the fact that I'm a senior, I can't take any more of them. :( But there is a photography club, so I think I might join it.
Anyways, here are my three favorite pieces from the class (with some descriptions after).
This is my favorite piece of all. It's a pinhole photo of a creepy barn that's behind the school. The teacher warned us not to go to it and I didn't listen LOL. My title for this piece quotes her saying, "Don't go to the creepy barn!"
Since it's pinhole photography, I used a wooden box with a small hole in it to get light onto the paper, which created the image on the right. We had to create a negative of the image, which is on the left. I liked both pictures so much that I matted them together.
This is just a regular photo of some trees in my backyard. And since I love Hozier's music, the title for this piece is "In The Woods Somewhere." I think it looks super creepy and cool.
This is a mural that we have in the school, made up of several broken ceramic pieces. I didn't think it was good enough to submit for a grade, but I still really like the piece because it reminds me of my school.
There is an art show at my school, so I'm submitting the first two to that. And there's a Literary Magazine, where students can send in their art, writing, and photos, so I'm submitting the last two and maybe some writing.
Anyways, I need to quit yapping and get back to my hw. I swear this is my longest blog post lol. But hope you guys like these pictures as much as I do.
Oh and if your school offers photography, TAKE IT!!! I promise you'll have so much fun with it!
