updates

so updates! this has always been what was missing from my old blogs. id write one entry and then ghost, but not this time!

so life updates! i have been trying to get a government job for about 1 year now. its normal for the process to take that long (or longer) but unfortunately i picked the worst time ever with all this political uncertainty. 

ironically enough, just as i had made peace with sticking with my current job, I got an interview. so ill be preparing for that this weekend i guess. the actual job is an absolute nightmare, but i just need a foot in the door. 

I can think of it as a positive thing, where itll be an opportunity for me to improve my french and enter the public service... but of course it could also be a disaster as well where ill end up unemployed and depressed after a year soo..... we shall see.

Anyways onto korean updates.

Ive had about 3 Korean classes over the past 3 weeks and have been trying to diligently study everyday to some degree. im up to lesson 17 of ttmik 1, been reviewing my anki decks, doing my homework for my class as well as listening to podcasts and other korean content on youtube.

ive seen some youtube videos on language learning suggest that its better to consume content with no subs, so ill be trying that going forward. 

i also want to try reading in korean despite my beginner abilities lol so ive been reading some A0/A1 graded readers and thats been good so far. 

its been harder to stick with reading than it has been to do my ttmik lessons and anki reviews honestly, but i think thats because reading has been the hardest activity so far. so that probably means i should be doing it more loool

ive also been thinking on what my 5th language should be, and ive decided Arabic would be a great challenge. unlike Korean, I have no knowledge of Arabic outside being able to read it so itll be difficult. hopefully i can take what is working for Korean and apply it to Arabic! Also i am getting wayyyy ahead of myself given ill need 5 good years to master Korean lmfaoooo
