Why is it so hard to make friends as adults?
(I'm 22)
It doesn't help that I live in a small city and it really doesn't help that I live in the Texas of Canada.
Its hard to find ppl who don't have a hateful complex here
but other than that sometimes ill meet somebody at clubs or other places like work and at the end of its always goodbyes and nice to meet you and hope to see again and that's where I'm stuck...so
I just need some good advice on how to ask ppl to be friends without making it awkward
or maybe that's just how it is as a adult "hey you wanna friends with me" will always be awkward... or probably its my Anxiety getting in the way haha but any advice. :)
and if adult feels the same way as me feel free to send a friend request. <3

Hi im 17 so we r in the same generation! I have yet to experience exactly life as an adult but i switched to online school when i was back in middle school. I also have social anxiety and live in a small town where young ppl r assholes. I’ve been just straight up telling my irl friends to introduce me to their friends and at the mall my friends friends were there and i got a phone number and discord. I have a whole discord group w all my friends friends now and were now officially friends! Thats what happened for me recently but i also go to a convention every year and just start convos w ppl. Even if they look at me and dont respond its okay cus thats their problem not mine. But ppl at cons r usually very nice i also go to one of the safest so yeah. Other than that when im at the mall i sometimes see ppl who r cool but i dont go there a lot. I also feel like barnes and nobles is nice if u hang around the section u like and then just start convos w ppl looking. I dont go there often either tho cus its far. Honestly most days i go to the coffee shop alone and watch utube while doing other things usually drawing. Ik i probs dont have the best advice but i hope it helps a little or gives u ideas. Literally just going up to ppl talking to them and being like ur so cool do u have discord has been working for me
And then after i start txting them random stuff and they txt me back and we’ll talk abt music we like our things that happened in our day or week
