tut to make ur cat ears more fitting!! (tut 4 kemonomimi, furries, therians, agere, + more!!)

have you ever bought those huge cat ears off of amazon/anywhere else, but when they arrived they looked 2-dimensional, flat, and unflattering? well me too! :'D

i will show you 3 ways (sew, no sew, and clips) on how to fix them to look more like the ears below !! ^_^

p.s. dont worry if your ears are clips and not headbands!! i have something for you too :3c

things youll need:

- the ears x3
- bobby pins

(OPTIONAL)

-thread + sewing needle

step one!! : take your ears and take them off the headband, or if you have clips thats perfectly fine too!

it should look like this (if you have the headband)

step two!! :  take the top of the ear and fold it inwards as much as you like. i personally like mine about half way down the ear, but you can keep going if you want! it all depends on how big you want the ears. you can fold it again to see what it would look like!!

step three!! : 

NO SEW: take a bobby pin and stick it on the part you just folded. if you dont want to sew, this is where you'll stop!! for no sew, push the bobby pin in all the way and fold it back up to put on the headband

SEW: do the same thing as no sew to hold it in place, just for now! think of it like a little clip :3

CLIP EARS: you can do step two while theyre still folded, since you cant really take the clips off (i assume). just take the top of the ear and fold downwards into the middle until you find the shape you like! although clip ears will most likely be a new sew all together. (unless ur pro enough unlike me XDD) youll take the bobby pin and push it into place just like regular ears! it might be trickier because its folded, but its okay!! i believe in uu!! :D

for headbands, it should look like this 

(i left the bobby pin out so you can see where to put it, but please push it in all the way!!)

if you want to leave it bobby pinned for no sew headband or clips, youll fold it back up and it'll look like this!

step four!! : you'll want to thread your needle, i did a double thread to make sure it stays together

it should look like this! you wont need much thread :3

step five!! : take your needle and pierce through only the inner layer of fabric, do not go through the whole ear!!! start making tiny stitches along the edge of the flap, and the closest part of the inner ear. once you get mid-way, take out the bobby pin so you dont sew it onto the eat by mistake!!

step six!! : fold your ear back up, the longer elastic goes before the shorter elastic. take the top of the elastic on the unfolded ear, and bring it to the bottom where the start of the shorter elastic is. then take the headband and slide the top of the longer elastic (now that the ear is folded) on first, and then the shorter elastic. id take photos but the elastic on this one is the same color as the fur and wouldnt show up on photo... :')

step seven!! : enjoy your lovely new ears!! <3

if you want more shape or pointier ears, you can smooth the fur. i wouldnt reccommend using a pet brush because i dont know how that would go, and you might pull some of the fluff out. i used my hands to shape it :3
