Here is why:
1. Largely non-toxic environment, I have only made one post and the welcome wagon took my breath away.
2. NO ALGORITHMS, if someone follows you, they WILL see ALL of your posts...
3. ...In the order that you post them! Everything is displayed chronologically!
4. A More engaging, authentic, and supportive community that is serious about their craft
5. NO DATA MINING, you are NOT the product to be sold to faceless corporations!
6. No censorship or shadow-banning. While I personally don't care about adult content or political discourse, it's nice to not be silenced when you are trying to express yourself.
7. NO ADS!!!!!
8. You can put clickable links in your posts.
9. No resolution loss when uploading, and no enforced ratios. If your image is 3000px wide, that's what it will be uploaded as without any pesky compression.
10. More granular audience control. Want to post a photo you only want your closest friends to see? You can do that!

since i cant reply in forums, and since i need to friend you to send a dm and you dont friend people like me, ill post my reply here.
in the physical world its not as simple as just practicing to talk to people for me. when i was admitted to some place to get better (i dont know the name for it), it took so much time, mental effort, energy, and suffering to step out of my room in that place. before going there, i wasnt willing to get cafeteria food. id rather starve myself. im better than i was before, but trying to talk to someone who im not close with or isnt a new therapist of mine or something like that is like trying to make myself walk into fire. strangers arent going to stand there waiting for me to say something for 20 minutes or maybe even longer because i became frozen. in the digital world, i can sit for longer than an hour thinking of what to say.

Oh, this sounds nice. I always found instagram a bit on the shallow side. It wouldn't hurt to use something more niche.
Also, can you operate the site through just your PC? Instagram only lets you upload through app.
Yes, there is a desktop app! Which is actually the only way I upload photos to it :) I rarely use mobile apps for almost anything anyways haha.
