Actually, I just used a pre-existing layout and then I went through the code and tweaked some things here and there. Maybe doing the same could work for you!

Hey! No it hasn't died at all, there's just a big turnover rate because people don't make the effort to actively find people here and find things to do and write about and lose motivation. But a lot of people like the slow pace and stick around :D Have fun!
