Being here feels right

When Myspace shut down and everyone began to move over to Facebook, even back in 2006 when things were still relatively harmless, I still had a bad taste in my mouth.  Facebook took everything about Myspace that was fun and creative, and it threw it out the window.  No more fun colorful profiles, no more fake names or blinking gifs or playing your favorite music on your profile.... ugh

But, well, we made do.  For nearly 20 years.  But look what's happened.  Everything is at risk now.  The billionaires don't even want us to be given the freedom to breathe or exist.  

I'm done with it.  I'm so happy to be here, even if I never make friends.  Even if my real life friends never join this site.  I don't care.  I feel free and safe here.  Thank you, I really hope we can keep this site going and make it better over time <3  Let's connect and unite through these hard times.
