Schoolll

So hiii!

I decided I'm gonna write a blog about school, because sadly school consumes my life atm! :(

My school always gives out lots of homework, the schoolsystem is effed up and there's always LOTSSS of drama.

Sooo, if you're curious about the (school) life of a dutch girl, tune in!

First of all, I'll describe how the dutch system, and more specifically our school system works:

So when we're 11-12 years old we go to 'de middelbare school' which is an equivalent to high school. You get divided based on your learning ability's and school skills. There's 3 levels: VMBO (lowest, you get the choice between a practical and theoretical learning way), HAVO (the middle, these children are either really hard working VMBO students or lazy VWO students) and VWO (the highest, the most difficult, and the most expectations)

(I am a VWO, year 4 student (normally you turn 16 in year 4, but I turned 15).)

We have 5 semesters every year, each between two breaks, with a testweek. (So thats 5 testweeks in total :O)

So our school specifically is really strict on turning in homework, bringing all your stuff and getting good grades. You get one pass if you forget your homework or stuff, but after that it's straight to detention. And secondly if you have a class that you're failing, you also have detention, the hours of detention build up based on how many classes you're failing.

And those are just exemples! So I think you can say they're quite strict. Luckily I have never gotten detention or anything like that, but I can imagine it can be quite hard for my fellow students.

Anywaysss, I'll keep you updated about school life, because right now I need to to some more homework againnnn. :(

Adios Amigos! <3
