Silence of the lambs movie review

welcome all,

this is my first time creating any type of 'blog' so apologies if my execution is a little mediocure. To note: i came across this ace platform from tiktok, so thank you tiktok for that!

anyway, i wanted to take the time to discuss my thoughts on the movie, silence of the lambs...so here goes....

I think it can be determined as particularly unsettling to consider that, in certain instances, the individual responsible for the crime, may possess an intellectual acuity comparable to that of the investigator tasked with solving the case....(just had to put that out there)

Anyway, i've only recently managed to sit through a viewing of the film (and it is a masterpiece), and I find myself questioning how I managed to delay watching it for so long. Initially, my reluctance stemmed from a misconception based on the title, which led me to assume the narrative centered around lambs.

What ultimately compelled me to engage with the film was a recommendation from a friend, coupled with my recent binge-watching of The X-Files. In many ways, the film's tone and thematic elements felt reminiscent of an X-Files episode, particularly in its exploration of the psychological and investigative dimensions of the story. After viewing this film, i can know understand the references from this film within certain x files episodes lol. For instance, in season 9 episode 19 mulder says to scully in the prison cell 'i could smell you coming clarice' which is actually perfect as both scully and clarice are red heads (do we still call people that in 2025), also in season 4 episode 13 jodie foster voices the tattoo of a cowgirl on an adult male's arm, which was also a nice way of intertwining these 2 very common cinematic peices of media. Understanding this humour now that ive been educated enough to watch silence of the lambs is great, and maybe i should watch more 'adult minded' films

:)
