With Hello Kitty Island Adventure finally coming to the Switch I thought it'd be fun to talk about my favorite and least favorite characters from the popular Japanese franchise. I played the game on Apple arcade quite a bit until they announced that it was coming to the switch then got rid of my apple arcade account. Because of this I will only be mentioning the ones from the game and only the main characters. I will be starting off with my least favorite.

10. Hangyodon,Kiki & Lala

I'm glad a lot of people like Hangyodon but I just don't. Hangyodon is a fish wanting to be an aspiring comedian and runs an underwater comedy club. His humor is just not it and I just really don't like how he looks. Out of all the characters he is by far the most hideous. I mean he is a fish and fish aren't very cute in a lot of ways but there are cute fish! He's not even really the one that teaches you to swim but you do have to get a lot from him which is kind of annoying. 
Kiki and Lala are star children who live in the clouds. While their home is very cute and magical I just don't care for them much because they are human and look like they are from the precious moments collection. They're also just kind of dicks to each other and others sometimes and I hate their gendered hair.

9. Wish me mell and Top Hat

      

These two are introduced kind of later in the game when you unlock the whole island. TopHat being the newest addition to the Sanrio franchise. I don't really hate these characters I just find them a little dull. Wish Me Mell is cute but they could have used a cuter bunny character from the sanrio library in my opinion. She also only handles planting flowers, which I found to be one of the more confusing and boring parts of the game. Top Hat is just kind of a boring paranoid character which once you play you understand but just not enough to intrigue interest.

8. My Sweet Piano and Pekkle

7. My Melody and Cinnamoroll

This will be controversial but My Melody and Cinnamoroll are not my favorites. In fact I think they are slightly overrated *ducks chair*. My Melody is a Bunny who sells furniture on the Island and honestly feels more like the main character vs Hello Kitty in the game. Cinnamoroll is a Bunny (the company says she's a dog but I REFUSE to listen to them shes a bunny God dammit) that flies around as the mail delivery. Again both these characters are very cute but between My Melody being more of a pink and positive girl and Cinnamorolls identity crisis I felt like 7 is the best spot to put them.

6. Pochaccoo and Badtz-Maru

Now we're starting to get into the good ones! Pochaccoo is an adorable black and white dog that runs the Island gym while sassy grumpy Badtz is a Penguin running the comic and fish stand (Why those two things? I dunno, who cares?) Pochaccoo is interesting because he's actually based off Snoopy from Charlie Brown who, fun fact, use to be a Sanrio character! Japan loved Snoopy so much that Sanrio bought the rights to Snoopy for awhile to make Snoopy toys. Once they couldn't do that anymore they created Pochaccoo. Badtz on the other hand is just plain funny! I love his grumpy face and mischievous nature.
