There's tons of blog posts on here already discussing how the SpaceHey model is ideal for social media; some interesting perspectives as to why were:
- There's no feed that's pushing relentless information into your face
- There's no platform for large corporations to shove ads and other info
but for those of us coming from primarily Twitter as part of a newer generation who never got to the original MySpace: what's up?
My primary functioning role on social media was I liked to make short-form, informal, lower-case jokes that a couple of my friends got. Is it worth it to reverse gears from what we know today as microblogging to this modern blogging idea? What do I have to contribute on a site like this; and what's my role as a member? Should I try to actively create content, and how can I find friends without producing content?
I quit all my social medias about a week ago, which was perfect timing to see SpaceHey on my ProductHunt newsletter and find something to fill that void. Something that so aggressively demanded my time, but something that wouldn't leave me in social isolation. I really hope this platform can be just that. Just this post alone, with punctuation and capitalization, is the most serious I've typed anything online in quite some time.
My call to feedback, I suppose: other folks who are coming from this background; what's your ideal spacehey usage pattern? Is there even an answer to the title, or is it up to everyone to form how they interact with the platform?
I feel like I'm answering my questions as I write them. I hope you enjoyed, or find something you can relate to :)
