i love musicals so much, and i don't understand how people can say they dislike them, like they're literally perfect, and the songs are written so well and catchy like???
musicals are fun and expressive and fun, they have serious topics they cover in which they use songs to perfectly portray the feeling or vibe of things from different character perspectives and I think people who refuse to consume musicals as a from of media are greatly missing out.
Hairspray, heathers, ride the cyclone, Chicago, sweeney todd, westside story
even jukebox musicals like mamma mia are so good and introduce you to a vast genre of music,
like I would've never been so obsessed with ABBA songs rn if it weren't for watching mamma mia, like I genuinely don't understand people who say they CANT watch musicals???
and then they love disney movies as if 60% of disney originals and animations arent musicals.
i understand that people think its dumb how they just burst into planned song and choreo out of nowhere, but if you think about it, I feel like musicals are in their own multiverse where spontaneous singing and dancing is the norm and its literally just in their blood like, in the musical universe people don't learn or practice the song numbers, its literally just ingrained in them, like breathing.
idk man, you guys should give musicals a chance
