A pair of star-crossed lovers curbed by time
Together tied with a thin scarlet thread
A city boy, while she is in a shrine
Will they make it together in the end?
The way they meet, for it is so bizarre
Their bodies are able to be exchanged
A comet turns, down comes a falling star
The times between them were rearranged
The girl is surely living in the past
While the boy is living in the present
The splitting comet hit the girl's town fast
The labored trip he went on to prevent
Awhile, the boy, he sees the thread, exclaims
"Excuse me miss but could I ask your name?"
(I wrote this sonnet in my freshman honors English class and just wanted to share it. It is based on the movie Your Name : Makoto Shinkai)
