How do we find dreams

How do people find their hopes and dreams? 

That is a question that has truly plagued my mind for the longest. Does to come to you? Does it just dawn on you one day that this is the path you want to choose? Do you overthink your choice? How do you decide that's your dream, but most importantly how do you decide that your going to live your dreams. I wonder how much do people sacrifice to live their dreams. I feel like when your a creative its so hard to live your dreams because its not valued and your afraid of not making a living. I want to live my dreams but I dont see the worth in the sacrifce it takes to live the dreams I seek.
