Can we normalize doing oc x canon?

Well, every time I get to know a new media and I like it a lot, it's normal for us to create OCs, right? And usually depending on the media you end up having a favorite character, so it's normal that if you find the character attractive you'll probably want something that represents you to relate to him, right? Even if he already has a Canon pair or a character that the fandom says has a lot of chemistry then I would like us to start normalizing making drawings or posting things related to OC X Canon, because I hate it when I post a drawing of my OC with my favorite character and I get comments like:  "But the *character* already has a canon pair!" or "I prefer *character* with *character*!" like, man, if you don't like it, just don't say anything! Let people be happy!

PS: We shouldn't normalize whether the oc x canon is adult x minor or something illegal.
