"Catfish" 01/20/25 - FefNep Oneshot

Feferi was still feeling a bit down after she and her Moirail, Eridan, falling out due to conflicting feelings for one another and Eridan’s.. childish personality. Everyone had already gotten into the medium, and started playing Sgrub... but for Feferi she couldn’t put all her focus onto the task at hand. Eridan was just making it so hard with his childish tantrums..

 Eventually she decided to take a small break and explore the medium, seeing all her friends lands until she eventually wound up bumping into Nepeta and her Moirail*, Equius. Of course, Equius, being ever devoted to the hemospectrum to a near perverse degree, made Feferi a bit uncomfortable. Now, Nepeta, being the absolute sweetheart she is, snuck off with Feferi as she could tell the young heir had something on her mind.

 As they settle in a secluded area, the feline alien girl rubs her head against her friend and looks up at her with wide, sympathetic eyes as she offers to listen to the young empress to be worries. The, thalassic and ever selfless, Feferi at first, tries brushing it off, but eventually she just needs to get it out! And so, she spills all that has been bothering her to the attentive cat girl sat next to her.

 Once she finally got all of her feelings out they both sat in silence before Nepeta swiftly caught Feferi in a tackle, her her tail swishy slightly as she looked at her friend with an expression full of compassion, and fortification.

 She reassures Feferi that it wasn’t her fault that Eridan was a big baby who was "paw-sitively" clingy, and she wasn’t responsible for his feelings. And that if he decided to throw a hissy fit and act like just being friends was a "cat-astrophe" than it was all on him and he just needed to learn to be a better "meowrail". Feferi smiled a bit, appreciating her feline friends sympathy for her situation. She gently pats Nepetas head with appreciation and the two of them sit in comfortable silence for, Gog knows how long, just appreciating the time they had together.
