Pocket Lighter
Dear, firework
When I first saw you
I knew you’d be a bright star.
As my eyes widen
And I looked at you with awe.
Dear, firework
I took my lighter and held it against you
And I finally saw your spark.
Excitement rushed through my body
waiting to hear that loud pop.
Finally, I saw all your beautiful colors,
they’re more beautiful than I thought.
Dear, firework
I looked up to the sky,
and noticed that you stopped.
No colors, no light,
you didn’t leave a single mark.
I held my lighter against you again
Why can’t you turn on…?
Dear, firework
I burned my finger while trying
And it left a scar.
I started to cry as I realized
That i’ll never again feel that shock.
The twinkling lights that flew up to the sky,
were all gone.
You left smoke behind and dirty dust
It gave me a weird feeling in my gut.
Dear, firework
I can’t see my surroundings
Without your light my path is dark.
My lighter alone is not much,
I guess I didn't have much luck.
I need your sound, your light
I miss it all.
