Coroner - Punishment For Decadence

This record, Punishment For Decadence by Coroner, is simply an incredible example of how Metal can be both heavy and violent but also technical and refined, without loosing anything.

Coroner are one of the most important bands in the whole genre, pioneers of Technical/Progressive Thrash Metal (along with Watchtower, Mekong Delta, Deathrow, Target, Voivod, blind Illusion, Megadeth and more, a full list is basically impossible to make hahahahah) and one of the most unique band of the 80s.
Punishment For Decadence is full of tempo changes, weird riffs, arpeggios, neoclassical influences, tasteful solos but also crushing rhythms, harsh vocals and a guitar tone as sharp as a blade.

I can't recommend this album enough to those who seek pure musical genius while also wanting an headbanging experience.

Best tracks: Masked Jackal, Arc-Lite, Skeleton on Your Shoulder and Shadow of a Lost Dream.
