Little spider outside my window pane 

Your web glistens from the rain 

Interweaved with the roses red 

Do the scents surround your head? 

You are still, do you sleep? 

Or do your silent watch you keep? 

And if you sleep do you dream? 

Are these things what they seem? 

Little spider what do you see? 

Do you think about destiny? 

Do you dream about being free? 

In some nightmare do you flee? 

Do you dream of your next meal? 

Or is tranquil peace you feel? 

Do you rest in deep content? 

Do you dream of rain heaven sent? 

In your dreams are you the king? 

Or do the angels to you sing?  

Do you sleep in a bed of fear? 

In your eye does there rest a tear? 

In your dreams do you rule the world? 

With the keys of life yours to hold? 

Do you dream of me little one 

As I watch you sleeping in the sun? 

Sleep little spider rest your head
