any tips for begginer guitarist?

hi, so i am a begginer in this things. i have ordered a Jackson dinky bc i heard from friends they are really good and vox pathfinder amp bc of the same reasons. i really wanna learn to play electric guitar more than just smth i do when i am bored but i dont even know where to start.

actually i have started with playing "come as u are" by nirvana and learned at least how to sound it. i played it for 3 hours straigh on my friends guitar and she kicked me out (¬_¬"). 

anyway if anyone got recomendations on how to get better at playing the guitar or better equitment all will be appreciated!!!ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
