Today I listend again to "Airline Tape" by MUZAK during my Shift.
MUZAK is not a band but a Brand with an R.
They started making Backroundmusic for public spaces like Elevators, Offices and retail Stores in the 1930s.
The "Airline Tape" was a specialized service designed for airlines, Easy Listening Instrumental Tracks tailored to create a calming and pleasant atmosphere for travelers. These tapes were preloaded and designed to loop seamlessly, ensuring consistent playback during flights.
it helped to soothe passengers and mask background noise during long flights. Over time, as in-flight entertainment systems became more sophisticated, offering personal screens and a broader array of content, Muzak's Airlinetape service became obsolete :(.
The Truly interesting thing is that They put a Shitton on Reverb on these Tracks. So during my Shift I felt like flying peacefully over the Atlantic. It Also calmed down some Addicts who were short on Heroine and visited me during my Shift.
The Albumcover is also very Pleasent to Look at:
im still searching for a Picture of The Reel To Reel Player that was onboard such a Vessel.
Maybe the Second Steering Wheel was original for the Pitch of The Muzak Tape, if so, im considering becoming a Pilot.
Give it a Try Here you can Listen to it yourself: https://archive.org/details/airline-muzak
