Totally agree, I'm so happy to have found this old-style platform, it feels far away from the nowadays suffocating social media.
However like someone mentioned in the comments, I'd rather keep it low-profile so it can continue to be a safe haven.

Another thing I actually like is not having it readily available all the time. Not having notifications pop-up on my phone and the constant urge to check if there was any activity, the doom-scrolling... basically, having to wait, and having less to consume (while also better quality). That's how it used to be, and it's kinda nice having that to look forward to, because then when you do get online, it feels more like leisure and less like a task. Does that make sense?! Anyone else?! haha.

There's an interesting Netflix documentary about social media (can't remember the name but sure you can find it). Someone said that before, the Internet was a tool that we used, but now, we are the ones being used by it, basically. I can't remember the exact words. But it came to say that, a tool is something you go to when you need to use it. However, when something is actively and constantly requesting your attention, that's not a tool anymore. That's profiting from you somehow.

All in all I like the feeling that I can regain control over how I choose to spend my time. I hope we can all enjoy this for as long as possible.

i honestly prefer uknown social media, if ppl from ig and tiktok move into spacehey, this site would become a pretentious and empty competition for kudos and being the 'top blog'... But i know what u mean, maybe it would be great if the mobile app was better optimized so actual spacehey users can use spacehey more comfortably and more frequently ToT
