old web customization, how special you were......

it's funny to me that, when my dad started his major in computer science (at least i think? that's what his course is called?) a few years ago, he really wanted to teach me how to code and stuff but i had no interest in it at ALL, like,, did not give a single shit but now here i am, slightly struggling to learn html just so i can customize my page on a silly little MySpace inspired social media 😔

well, to be honest i can't even say i'm struggling considering just HOW basic my knowledge on it is LMAO but still i'm having soo much fun just browing through other people's pages here on SpaceHey and taking inspiration for what i want my own to look like (the people in here are actually so insane (/pos) there's so much cool stuff)

i also discovered Neocities just yesterday and THAT is what actually made me even more inspired/motivated to properly learn a bit more about coding, just so i can make my own site some day! considering how corporate-ish most of the internet is nowadays, this new-found collective interest on the old web and the amount of customization we could have back in the day is just so refreshing to see yk!!

by the way i'm speaking you could even think i was yk,, there,, to experience to see all that,, i mean i WAS kinda, but since i'm only 18, i was too young to actually experience all of it, right. for example, by the time i had access and learnt how to use youtube, it had alreaddy gotten rid of all the customization it previously offered :(( so technically i wasn't there to experience the "golden age" of internet customization, but still i miss it badly and i'm glad there are so many people working towards giving the internet its spark back, one blog/neocities/personal site at a time

in short, i just wanted to talk a bit about this newest interest of mine--that is website making and customization--, and do a little diary thingy soo yeah, bye bye heheh O(∩_∩)O
