i got an iphone 4s!!!!

yeah obviously it'll never compare to an actual digicam but its close enough? i prefer using it if i wanna take selfies and still have that "retro" camera quality and not look crusty !! my digital camera is a panasonic lumix dmc-lz7 and the pictures are cute i guess but they dont rly have that same warm coloring other 2000s digicams have ykwim? and taking selfies on it is a NIGHTMARE like i said so i'd really appreciate some tips!! xx

hmm I kinda do see how a phone could compare to a camera with the flash off, specifically. and it's funny you say that cause I actually HATE the warm look. but if you want it, usually it's achieved with flash, turn off the lights in your room and then use the camera, you'll appear very warm, at least in my experience. it's also achievable in other lighting too, though, of course.

generally what I've found most flattering is none other than the myspace angle, there's a reason they did that. find a light source, usually the lights on the ceiling, and look up at them so your face is evenly dipped in all the light and hold up the camera to capture the angle. you can do the same with daylight by the window too.

to maximise this effect, you can adjust the light-sensitivity, or the "ISO". find that setting and increase it as much as you want. this'll make the camera more sensitive to the light and flash, illuminating your face fully with little-to-no shadow, giving you a more even skin and flattering look.

overall, taking good pics doesn't come easy. it takes a lot of time and practice, I personally think it should classify as a SPORT. got me sweating, dehydrated, arms hurting and shit. taking 100 pictures only to like 10-maximum. patience is key, take your time to try out different things, discover what's best, and experiment with the settings your camera has

well u see thats the thing, i always take photos with flash but i still cant get that nostalgic warm look ive seen on other cameras (like urs for example). the lighting is more on the cool side which is especially a problem when i take selfies bc im already super pale so the crappy lighting on my digicam just makes me look GHASTLY i guess it depends on each camera. but yeah i rly appreciate the tips, i LUVV the myspace angle but its a bit hard to pull off since i cant see myself, but like u said practice makes perfect!

you're welcome! to be honest I don't post the warm photos, unless you mean to tell me that yours is even more cooler-toned. then I wouldn't suggest the high ISO settings, it'll definitely make you look even paler. if your skin is cool-toned it can also reduce the warmth. maaaybe warm lighting or brown furniture could help?
there is also a chance it's the screen of your camera, unless you've already transferred. I'd need to see examples, I believe there are sites with sample photos if you aren't comfortable posting, now I can only suggest taking your photo somewhat of a distance away from your face, being too close can reflect the flash

oooo my first device was a crappy little samsung phone with a keypad but i swear i LOVED that thing!!! it could only run a toned down version of facebook and google, a couple of games and do other typical phone stuff. im grateful i started off with it bc since it was a very limited phone i got to have an actual childhood and do normal child activities instead of being addicted to a screen and getting into weird stuff at a young age like u said lol. and 2 answer ur question i also have a blackberry which i found by accident in a drawer LMAO
