We fit so well, the summer moulded by our energy, the sweetest of smells outside Yagami's cafe, the one we'd walked past almost everyday, our eyes and smiles simply drawn to each other, our thoughts when alone just consumed by one another, before this began, I knew from the start, from the moment we met, a butterfly in my heart, a butterfly from the tree, that had provided us shade, as I hold back, I bite my tongue, theres so much I want to say, but right now we sit in silence, a warm understanding, your head on my shoulder, no feeling is like this, I left it to late, before I tapped you awake, I didn't want this to end, a tired smile on your face, so we ran home in the darkness, your hand runs with mine, then I could finally see your eyes lit up by the streetlights, we climbed your roof and we stargazed, never thought of time, and now I wonder where it went, 43 years down the line, My eyes start to cry, I looked down wondering why, we couldn't have another 40 as I say my last goodbye, but I know your never gone, and if your wondering why, I seen you right outside the window as that same butterfly.
