Custom Desktop setup, Wins7 Theme and Phone Layout

I'm not really old enough to be nostalgic for Windows 7 or the Old web for that matter, I'm just sucker for aesthetically pleasing UI and boy, did companies sure give a lot more fucks about that back in the day. 

The Main reason I like customizing my shit is cause it makes me feel cool and like I'm rebelling against corporate minimalism lol. Nostalgia is a flawed emotion, when drawn from for innovation, it gets a pass but getting lost in the sauce is why I think a lot of people customize they shit to look like an old OS. 

I wouldn't have done this in the first place if companies just made their UI more customizable and nice to begin with. And no I'm not downloading Linux, I mean, I guess the shoe fits but Linux doesn't exactly represent the vast majority here, an average Joe who gets a computer with a pre-installed OS but struggles to navigate a weird UI like Wins 11 isn't gonna go through the rigamarole of looking for alt OS in the same way some tech fella would.

Like it or not the bigger companies are representative of the current status quo, even if they suck. That being said I do have a respect for the internet ethos of the early wild west days, even if I wasn't exactly a fully functioning human at the time. I mean I wouldn't be on here if I didn't. For me It all comes down to respect and consideration for the average user, you see it on here and in the peripheral web in general, the DIY ethos I think we should all strive for as internet users who became so chronically online they inadvertently (p)regressed to digital traditionalism.

It's that mindset of digital individuality that inspired me to customize my windows, the screenshots are just what it looks like but I also go the Wins7 boot up screen, log in screen, OS opening sound, OG google skin for Firefox, OG YouTube skin (showing dislikes) and RetroBar Task Bar (Vista Theme) This took 4 days to complete but I think it was worth it since no money was spent. Phone was customized with Nova Launcher. All in all I'm pretty proud :)
