Review 16: Dead Estate

What is Dead Estate?

Dead Estate is a top down rouge-like shooter, with many emphasis and references to a lot of horror influences. You climb the many floors of an infested manor as you try to reach the top. On your way you’ll find many different guns and items which can make each run completely different. Overall this game has overhauled so much since it was released having a timeline of six total giant updates changing the way you play the entire game. Currently there are 10 different characters to play as, plus a total of 150 weapons you can find and 300 items to upgrade your character.

What brought me to Dead Estate?

After playing the demo on steam I really enjoyed both the gameplay, the more classic pixelated graphics and the great soundtrack. After I bought the entire game it kept me hooked with the updates adding more challenging features like blessing and curses or the actual challenges you can try playing. Mostly the reason I kept playing was the soundtrack which I ended up buying off steam as well.

Where can you play it?

Currently you can buy the entire game off steam or play the demos on either steam, itch or gamejolt.

Would I recommend it?

If you enjoy more fast paced rouge-likes or enjoy the more pixelated art styles I would fully recommend playing this game. Both for the game itself or just the soundtrack entirely.

10/10
