Sonic 3 Review (╯✧∇✧)╯(*SPOILERS!!!* GO WATCH IT)

As of writing this, I just went to see the movie I've heard so much about that came out almost a month ago (oops!!). Out of excitement and waiting on my sonic onsie, and well the plushies i've just ordered, I wanted to share my opinion with the world -  And oh my gosh, these Sonic movies just keep getting better and better as time goes on, and the 3rd one blew it completely out of the park!!

I love how Tom is actually characterized in this one (I didn't hate him before, but there wasn't too much for his character going on in the first 2 movies), and both he and Maddie have a big part to play in breaking into the G.U.N. building this time, so that was super nice to see for our multicolored alien parents.

The human characters in general are treated so much better in my opinion in this one—the balance between Sonic's team and Shadow vs. the humans is great, each party receiving good, adequate time to help tell their parts of the story. Ivo and Gerald are just so fun to watch, and seeing Jim Carrey bounce off, well, himself, was a treat and even got my mom to laugh a few times lol. I do kind of wish Gerald would've been a bit more serious in the end fight, just to nail the whole, "faking my personality to get Ivo to join me." And ohhh man, that delivery on "Oh Ivo, you're no Maria." Genuinely made me go crazy in the theater!! And don't even get me started on the way Shadow's backstory was handled!

The way they characterized Maria in this movie was phenomenal. Just from the first flashback scene with her using roller skates, we got so much more than Sonic Adventure 2 (I love that game, but still). And it could even be used to explain why Shadow moves in a skating-like motion. It's amazing!! The payoffs for Shadow's arc after being stuck for 50 years after watching the death of his sibling and the rage he just oozes off are just so well done. And Sonic this time had an actual growth arc where he matures a bit was super nice (the first 2 movies tried to do this, but it was executed kinda poorly). They just handled everything very nicely.

OMG, and hearing live and learn AND seeing both Super Sonic and Shadow, I was shaking and moving from all the excitement!!

I'm interested in what the next movie will entail; however, with the reveal of Amy Rose and Metal Sonic, As well, Ivo was the creator of Metal Sonic. Unless he didn't actually die, but that would kind of stink in my opinion, as his last speech to Stone wouldn't pay off as much. I'm just super excited to see where this is heading and cannot wait for the next movie!!

Oh, and one more point I just thought of: will they use Black Doom as a villain, since in the movie Shadow was found from an asteroid instead of a test tube baby? or will it head elsewhere I'm just so curious what they'll do next. I might be reaching on this but in Knuckles they did allude to Iblis so who knows lol >.<

Alright I'm done ranting about this amazing movie to finish off 2024 and if you read this and haven't watched it, I highly recommend it even if you don't know too much Sonic lore!!
