so my best friend and i promised each other we would go to the same college in the 8th grade, and we both just got accepted to the college we both wanted to go to. but now that we are both seventeen, life has NOT planned out the way we wanted, for example: we are both paying for own college (we are poor :c), neither of us have our license or a car, AND the college is five hours away from home. staying home and going to a college closer to home, but we REALLY waant to go to this college, what do we do??

in my experience it depends on the major, the school, and expenses
if your degree is going to be high paying, might as well go to the college you want, because in the end with your degree you'll be able to pay off any loans
if you got accepted into a reaaaallllyyy good school, bite the bullet and go
if your degree is gonna give you a job with a below average salary, maybe sticking with a college closer to home would be ideal
idk if you're in the USA like i am but i'm currently doing two years at community college to save up money, and then transferring to a bigger/better university- that is a good option that many people overlook
