YUZURU HANYU'S SEIMEI

Seimei is THE yuzuru hanyu program, everything from the edge control, the balance of technical elements, the components, the cleanliness of the skate, the costume, the music, it's down to perfection, everything about it is what figure skating is. He perfectly embodies how figure skating should be, an art while being a contender for competitive sports. It's so perfectly well choreographed that it makes me want to kiss the choreographer like oh my goodness how could u ever conjure up such program perfect for him. Not to mention the cultural significance of the costume, stylizing such a piece of costume while also in capsuling his nationality, and the core of his country (and simplifying it to fit the costume rules, fuck u ISU I will kill u), it feels like a love letter to the country that he represents, and being proud of it.

God I'm gonna go back into what I said early about how it embodies how figure skating should be because looking at the current state of figure skating, it feels like gymnastics on ice with ZERO regard for artistry. The way Yuzuru incorporates high difficult jumps in his performance and not let it distract u from the rest of the program should be THE STANDARD for figure skating, not to mention he literally had a life ending injury 4 months prior, and started training after 4 months of no training and yet he STILL won the Olympics like the absolute GOAT he is, the way he effortlessly skates cleanly with the utmost control over his blade and edges is just SCRUMPTIOUS, his movements are just satisfying to watch over and over again. Beginning position lives in my mind rent free, before gojo, he was the OG, this program shows the world that he's not just a figure skater but an artist willing to put this level of passion, and care into his program. Nothing can compare to seimei, Yuzuru Hanyu just embodies it to its fullest that nobody can even COMPREHEND.
