Why are custom cursors so difficult

So I used one of those pre-made layouts for my profile, and I wanted to try changing the custom cursor since I was messing around with the codes and found a cute hello kitty one. When it didn't work, I tried to put back in the old cursor and it just wouldn't work..

I've even deleted the whole layout code, re-added the original code and there is still no custom cursor... I'm genuinely confused as to what happened.

I've even tried several different codes and still nothing works.. Is this like a really obvious problem or am I just cursed with coding issues..

UPDATE: I DID IT!! I literally had to delete EVERY CODE (even stuff like gifs in the corner) and re-add everything and it worked! Now I have a Pusheen cursor
