Chapter One. Thing one and thing two.Wait there is a third?!?

Arania hated St.Agatha’s Catholic School For Ladies.

It wasn’t like she hated school in general she just hated this one for a multitude of reasons.

1. The teachers thought her name was improper she they called her “Anna”
2. The kids there were evil always making fun of her or calling her “Anna” or worst “Ariana” 
3. St.Agatha’s forbid mythology because it was considered “unholy” 

So yeah.

It was the worst and today was the last day until winter break where they would let students go home to their families.

Arania had been watching the clock for a while its was 2:26 

14 more minutes she thought 

Arania feeling bored with her self and having no one to talk to

she reached into her green colored backpack with leaf patterns and pulled out a black book with gold writing that seemed carved in called Norse Myths:Tales From Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland by Emillie Hagen one of Arania’s of favorites.

Without a care in the world she began reading ignoring the giggles and gossips of the table mates Delilah Howell, Eliana Lopez and Isabella Garcia.

Isabella was the prettiest girl in class with Caramel skin and and sleek straight black hair and perfect teeth.

Delilah was a pale girl with beach blond hair in a half up half down with tendrils out to frame her face.

Lastly Eliana the most annoying had dark unblemished skin and straight black hair.

And Isabella was the Queen bee the others were her minions and the two worshiped her.

Soon the trio of girls noticed Arania reading Isabella then whispered to Delilah and Eliana and all three girl with smirking and grinning at Arania.

“Hey Ari.” said Eliana and Delilah in unison both saying it in a phony friendly tone.

“Great thing one and thing two.” Arania muttered under her breath 

“What was that Anna oh wait sorry Ariana.” spoke Isabella smiling sweetly at her.

And there’s a third now Arania thought.

“Oh nothing what’s up?” Arania says while forcing a smile 

“So whatcha reading?” asked Delilah pointed at her book “Oh y’know just myths.”.

Isabella snickered and signaled Eliana and Delilah to come close to her and she whisper loudly so loud it seem to Arania that Isabella wanted her to hear “See I told you she was a freak.”. The mini mes began laugh loudly.

While on the inside Arania was hurting. “A freak” 

Those words hurt bad. Soon the could hear the headmistress Mother Geraldine scratchy voice

voice on the speaker saying “Good Afternoon Ladies this is your headmistress speaking all student may leave in a orderly fashion we’ll see you in January.”

And with that the class room empty out within seconds and there was only Arania, Isabella, Delilah and Eliana were left.

The trio started to leave when Isabella knocked her water bottle,which spilled all over the book making the ink run. “Oops sorry Ari.” Said Isabella smirking.

Arania felt tears welling up in the eyes.

She simply headed out the class room door still hearing the laughs and giggles of Isabella, Delilah and Eliana.

Eventually she was in the school courtyard this was the only place in school she liked it was covered in flowers Sunflowers, Poppies, Lavender and Roses

it reminded her of her dad’s garden. 

Soon Arania was out the courtyard and outside the fence and was standing on the sidewalk waiting.

As the minuets go by Arania starts taping her foot impatiently.She begins getting nervous thinking pulling out the book from earlier seeing the pages were 

ruined covered in black ink. She then slam the book closed as she saw a blue Honda stop it was her dad Leo Mercado.

She ran as fast as she could as her dad was opening his arms to hug her she jumps in to his hug “Dad!!” he said “I’m sorry I was late Rani. I was picking up gifts for the twins.” He said with laughter while Arania was practically squeezing the life out him. 

“Okay okay get in the car I can’t breath” he said still

laughing. With that she let go finally let her dad breath she got in to the blue Honda once in Leo began 

to drive. “So” he started “what happened last week with Mother Sarah and Clarissa Garcia?”

“Dad it’s not my fault-” 

“What happened.”He cut her off

“Clarissa ripped one of my Hindu myth books so I pulled her hair and when Mother Sarah said that it was 

okay for her to do that I got mad a yelled at her I’m sorry dad. " she continued.

Leo took in a deep breath and said 

“Look I know your upset because your books

are important to you but that does not mean you can fight people Arania. You need to be the bigger person this is the 5th fight this month they might expel you and your 4th school.”

Arania keep her head down feeling like she was about to cry.

Leo saw her in the rear view mirror of the car he sighed the rest of the ride was silent.

20 minutes later they pulled up to a house covered in Christmas lights and inflatables of Santa on his sled and reindeer she recognized

the house it was her Auntie Claire’s and Uncle Johannes’s house Arania was surprised she honestly thought she be grounded.  “ I thought I was grounded.” said Arania “Oh you are but I promised to the twins that you’d stay for their birthday week and I’m not breaking it.” he said.

Both Arania and her Dad Leo got out the car Arania had the twin’s gifts in one hand and her phone in other she went to her her dad he open his arm “Y’know I’m not mad just disappointed you I didn’t want to send you to St.Agatha’s but it was my only choice it was the only school that would accept you I love you Rani y’know that?” “Yeah Dad I know I’m trying it’s just hard.”

“I know baby we’ll talk later.” he gave her a kiss on the forehead and drove off with a sad smile.

Arania walked up to the door and rang the door bell.

Ring Ring Ring 

The door opened with the lights practically blinding Arania.
