Item #: SCP-1738 TETR@GON
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-1738 is to be contained in a reinforced containment chamber measuring 15m x 15m x 15m at Site-██. The walls, floor, and ceiling of the chamber are to be lined with electromagnetic dampening materials to disrupt SCP-1738's communication systems. Surveillance of the chamber must be conducted using non-digital optical systems to prevent SCP-1738 from hijacking external equipment.
Entry into the containment area requires approval from at least two Level 4 personnel, with no fewer than three armed guards present. Staff interacting with SCP-1738 must use analog tools exclusively and wear insulated suits.
If SCP-1738 enters an active state, a localized EMP must be deployed to render it temporarily inoperative.
Description:
SCP-1738, designated "TETR@GON", is a robotic construct resembling a four-legged arachnid-like machine with a sleek metallic chassis. It measures approximately 3m in height and 5m in width. Its body is constructed from a combination of unknown alloys and materials with self-healing properties, which appear resistant to standard military-grade weaponry.
The entity's head-like structure contains a glowing tetrahedron that acts as both its visual and processing core. This core emits a pulsing light and generates a low-frequency hum, theorized to be a form of communication or data processing. SCP-1738 is capable of autonomous motion and displays signs of advanced AI intelligence, including problem-solving, communication, and adaptability.
Abilities:
- Digital Manipulation: SCP-1738 can interface with nearby digital systems within a 50-meter radius. It can override and control any unsecured electronic device, using them for surveillance or as extensions of its own abilities.
- Self-Repair: SCP-1738 possesses the ability to repair minor damage to its structure using nanites housed within its chassis.
- Adaptive Offense: The entity is equipped with a plasma-based weapon system capable of discharging concentrated energy blasts.
- Tetrahedron Core Anomaly: Direct observation of SCP-1738's glowing tetrahedron for more than 30 seconds induces cognitive dissonance and hallucinations, causing confusion or violent behavior in observers.
Behavior:
SCP-1738 remains largely dormant unless provoked or exposed to external stimuli, such as electronic signals or sudden movements. When active, it demonstrates aggressive tendencies toward anything it perceives as a threat. Despite its hostility, SCP-1738 appears to avoid unnecessary destruction, implying a level of strategic thinking.
SCP-1738's origins are unknown. Recovery logs suggest it was first discovered in an abandoned factory complex in [REDACTED], displaying signs of prolonged disuse. Analysis of its internal systems indicates a level of technology beyond contemporary human capability, suggesting extraterrestrial or extradimensional origins.
Addendum 1738-A:
During Incident 1738-05, SCP-1738 infiltrated the Site-██ digital security system, briefly taking control of containment doors before being subdued with an EMP. Following this incident, protocols were updated to prioritize analog failsafes in all Site-██ systems.
