Hey everyone! Lately I've been taking the time to think more deeply abt how I've been using the internet and how that's been affecting my daily life. Following that idea, one of my goals for this year has been to try and use the internet more "intentionally" if that makes sense. I feel like through this past few years I've taken a much more passive position in the way I've used social media (doomscroling on tiktok, just following trends for music, art and film opinions, etc) and even in the way I've lived life itself, do I decided to try and change that, and hopefully learn some new stuff along the way. SOOOOoooo, here's some of the thing I've started trying to do to help along the way:
- When trying to distract myself, actually consume a "real" piece of media (movie, tv show, album)
- Keeping 'regular' social media to a minimum (insta, tiktok, etc)
- Trying out new internet spaces (Here, pi.fyi)
- Reading at least 10 pages of a book I actually enjoy a day
- Reading online newsletters that are actually useful for me (The creative Independent, psyche, and pudding.cool)
- Doing something creatively fulfilling once a week (museum with friends, cooking a different dish, making some junk journaling)
Anyway, I hope this blog gives at least one more person the motivation to try and change some of their social media habits and just give their life a cozier feel ig.
Thnkx for reading yall! :)
