First glowing up is not only physical it is mental as well. I will split up everything into categories and I'll color coat them, so it is easier to read.
1. Lifestyle/goals
Clear out any negativity like a social media account that makes you feel worse or let go of friends who make you feel bad about yourself.
Or make small goals for yourself like I will get up at 5 am for the next week/7 days. And if this goal works extend it or adjust it as needed.
2. Foods + drinks
Water, I know everyone says it but water. If you hate normal water get water flavoring or sparkling water. Being hydrated helps your skin and how you smell.
Now for food, you can eat what you want but you should try to balance it. You could do 1/4 plate protein, 1/4 plate starches, 1/2 vegetables. And if you can't handle vegetables try to drink green drinks or hide the vegetables in your meal so you can handle it.
Also if you feel hungry 24/7 try to decide if you are hungry or bored. Now I'm not saying reduce your meals completely, but I mean don't eat 5 meals a day, eat 2 or 3 meals a day.
Breakfast is not a requirement even though many say it is but it does help you wake up, you could even wake up at 5 am and eat breakfast at 7 am so you give yourself time to feel hungry.
3. Skin care
Make a skin care routine. For example you can do the one below(splitting into AM and PM):
Am routine-
1st Cleansing/washing your face
2nd Any AM serums like acne serums
3rd Moisturize you face
4th Use sunscreen
Pm routine-
1st Double cleanse/wash your face
2nd Use a toner
3rd Put on your night serum
4th Moisturize your face
Weekly routine-
Exfoliate two times a week
Face mask once a week
Face massage about one-three times a week
Just know none of this is required just use what works for you.
4. Hair care
Tips for hair care:
1st don't keep your hair in hair-ties 24/7
2nd try to brush your hair for a good 10 minutes so you can get all the loose hairs out
3rd don't wash your hair everyday, wash it every other day or after 2 days(your hair does need the natural oils) but this doesn't mean don't shower.
4th use a silk bonnet(it helps with frizz especially if you have thick hair like mine)
5th if you don't use a silk bonnet try to use silk pillow cases(they are cheap at TJ MAX and Marshalls)
6th use heat protection before you use a hair dryer
7th use hair masks every 1-2 weeks
5. Nail care
Here are some tips:
1st rub Vaseline of your cuticles
2nd don't cut your cuticles it is easier for them to be infected instead push them back
3rd trim your nails regularly like 1-2 times a week(you don't have to cut them short just a trim)
4th let your nails breath for 5 days after any nail polishes or fake nails are taken off
6. Mental Health
Here are some tips to improve mental health:
1st as I said in the beginning let go of toxic people
2nd make yourself playlists and Pinterest boards for your goals
3rd eating healthy can make you feel better
4th meditation can work if that doesn't work for you do workouts or something like dancing to get your blood flowing
5th do something you enjoy for a bit like cleaning, baking, or writing
6th talk to a therapist if it gets bad
7th prioritize yourself not others
8th take one day a week to do self-care for yourself
Alright everyone this is the end! Love you all lots and have an amzing day/night!

Self improvement is pretty important. At least thats what I think. I've been through the process since 4 years. Did much for the outer appearance and for mental stuff. My tip in short: Always be aware of what you do. Reflect on yourself and remember that every decision matters for your goal. Good luck for everyone out there!
